I received by BFA in Art from Dana College in 2001. While there I took two semesters of ceramics with Tom Hubbel and fell in love with the process of turning earth into form and beauty. In 2002, I took on a six month apprenticeship with Tony Winchester, in Hollandale, Wisconsin. Since then, I have built my own wood-fired kiln, and fired several others, including the two-chamber anagama-style kiln at Adamah Studios of Bethel Horizons.

I live by the seasons. I am also an organic farmer, so in the summer, I'm outside, working the earth into vegetables and fruit. When the sun recedes into the south, I retreat indoors, and work the earth into pots. For me, the conversation is ongoing. I hope, through my work, I can share this with you.

I create one-of-a-kind functional and non-functional pieces, designed to be both visually pleasing and useful in daily life, while creating a cohesive body of work.

The work I do is an extension of my fascination with the process of pottery. I embrace the unexpected. Simplicity of form and decoration are important to me. I also try to be as environmentally responsible as possible, using waste-wood for fuel and a minimal amount of electricity in the studio.
