Come Enjoy VIVA Gallery’s Artisan Market this November & December!
Artisan Market Opens November 6!
This year’s Artisan Market features the works of Alexandra Germane, Devorah Yahn, Elizabeth Cahil, Ethan Schandelmeier, Jane Bidon, John Carlsbad, Judith Main, Liza Kuecker, Mariella TerBeest Schadweiler, & Phillip Waletzko.
Alexandra Germane - ceramics
I specialize in wheel thrown ceramics. I make functional pottery that looks beautiful in every home. I love to play with new shapes and glazing techniques
Devorah Yahn - clay and fabric
I create wheel-thrown and hand built functional stoneware pottery.
Elizabeth Cahil - ceramics & silk paintings
For my clay I make art tiles using a 14th century style of decorating which mimics mosaic work, called "cuerda seca." For silk painting I use the French serti method of silk painting in which lines are drawn with a wax resist.
Ethan Schandelmeier - beeswax candles
Ethan has been crafting candles in the Midwest for over 25 years. Bringing a timeless art form to life, he creates candles that capture the warmth and glow of a hearth with thoughtful design and care.
Jane Bidon - fabric bowl cozies
I sew together fabric and batting to make reversible all cotton bowl cozies. They can be used inside the microwave with bowls and cups so you can protect your fingers when removing the hot object. Washable
John Karlstad - wooden cutting boards
John has many years of experience with many woodworking tasks–from building houses to creating walking sticks. Most of his cutting boards are created with left-over pieces from his many projects.
Judith Main - painting & drawing
I paint and weave and draw and journal because this work keeps me grounded in the wonder of life, exploring texture and color and shape and form in the interior world of a weaver and the exterior world of a painter.
Liza Kuecker - fine knitting
I am a lifelong knitter. I select beautiful and high quality yarns to knit socks, hand warmers and sweaters.
Mariella TerBeest Schadweiler - fiber
I design and construct upholstery fabric handbags. I start with a sketch and then draft a pattern. I work with color, pattern, and blend a combination of fabrics which develops into a unique look.
Phillip Waletzko - wooden spoons
I specialize in hand-carved wooden spoons. The goal is to create utilitarian household utensils out of reclaimed, locally sourced wood that would otherwise be landfilled or burned.
