Painter Kimberly Burnett is VIVA’s Guest Artist for June!

Artist Biography:

Kimberly Burnett is a self taught fine artist and illustrator. She grew up in an isolated region of the foothills of North Carolina, surrounded by forests and wild animals. From the age of 2, she knew she was going to be an artist, reading every art book in the local library and drawing constantly. She began working with oils at the age of 14 and quickly realized that this would be her medium of choice.

Today her work is defined by a degree of realism that is inspired by her love of the old classical painters of Europe. Because of her synesthesia, she experiences moods, music, memories and places in different colors, which can be seen in her colorful figurative paintings. Her work is mostly inspired by nature and the people whom she loves.
