A life-long passion for animals, nature and humor is reflected in my artwork. Having grown up in the country where animals where my playmates, it's easy for me to attribute human characteristics to these creatures. Each image is a story and a glimpse into the world in which they live. Each character is created from a pair of eyes. From seeing that on the paper, I bring the rest of the composition to life. I use my fingers to work the pastel pigments into the page and little else. My colors are vibrant and playful, matching the style and attitude of my subject.

Having a duel major in Zoology and Fine Art at Miami of Ohio, it was natural to combine the two when it came to subject matter. Art eventually won out, and I moved to Chicago where I completed my degree at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. It was also there that I submerged myself in the museum and studied the works that still inspire me today.

After graduation, I stayed in Chicago and worked as a trade show photographer for several years. From there I connected with a laser display company called Aura Technologies. They produce live laser shows for corporate theater, planetariums, outdoor shows and special events. I became the art director and produced shows for the next nine years. This experience may be the influence of the vibrant colors I enjoy today.

For the past several years I have been showing my work in juried fine art fairs throughout the Midwest, producing commission pieces, exhibiting in specialty shows and solo exhibits in galleries and exclusive shops.
